Cult Wines’ managing director Tom Gearing has been included in the prestigious Spear’s 500 for the second year in a row.
A veritable who’s who of the biggest names in wealth management, the Spear’s 500 is billed as an ‘indispensable guide to the top private client advisors, wealth managers, lawyers and service providers for high-net-worth individuals’. The list is compiled from the highly-respected indices published by Spear’s magazine throughout the course of the year, each broken down into sections covering wealth and lifestyle.
Tom has twice now been recognised as a ‘top recommended’ individual within the wine category, joining a select few from the likes of Sotheby’s and Christies Wine.
The achievement is a fitting way to round off 2017, which saw Cult Wines celebrate it’s 10th anniversary. In that time the company has seen tremendous success, not only in Tom’s recognition by Spear’s, but by featuring in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 in 2015 as well as The Sunday Times’ SME Export Track 100 (for two consecutives years in 2016 and 2017) and last year in winning The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade, the most prestigious corporate accolade a company can win.
‘Being recognised by Spears for the second year running is testament to our business model, unique approach to this market and the expertise of our whole team – not just myself. The past ten years have firmly established Cult Wines as one of the leading fine wine companies in the UK, and we look forward to further cementing that reputation over the next decade!’

According to Spear’s 500 editor Alec Marsh, the list “is a vast compendium of great talent and expertise in the many fields of private client work – an almanac of excellence. In the age of the iPhone this is quite simply the one book that every high net worth individual should have.” The 2018 edition, featuring Tom, is available now.
