Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London. The 2006 Château Talbot already shows more maturity in the glass, though nothing to get too concerned about. The nose is very traditional with cedar and tobacco scents dominating the fruit, a touch of the old "stately home." The palate is medium-bodied with dry tannin, moderate weight in the mouth, but with a rather austere finish. It has character, if not quite the class of its peers this vintage. Tasted January 2016.
