Tasted at the La Romanée vertical at Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair. The 2010 La Romanée Grand Cru is a magnificent contribution to the vintage, one of the best that Louis-Michel has overseen. The bouquet is very intense with mineral-soaked red berry fruit mixed with truffle, rose petals, orange blossom and lavender. The palate is medium-bodied with refined tannin, wonderful balance and intensity, great backbone and enormous persistency in the mouth with hints of sage and black pepper. This La Romanée will require a decade in bottle but it will be worth the wait. Tasted June 2015.
