Artful Alchemy in a Bottle

The temperance of the 2007 season graced Burgundy with moderate warmth and timely rainfall, requiring a discerning vigneron's touch to extract the nuances from the Pinot Noir grape. The wine reflects this conscientious craftsmanship, tendering velvety tannins and a poised acidity that form the backbone of its structure. It conveys the terroir’s limestone and marl essence through whispers of spiced cherry and raspberry, enlacing it with subtle earthy undertones and hints of vanilla from well-judged oak integration.

A Vintage to Treasure for Wise Investors

An elevated conversation between old-world sophistication and vibrant fruit, the wine anchors itself among the most intriguing selections for wine investors. Not merely content to rest upon its laurels, Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair's masterstroke lies in balancing approachability with ageing potential. Twelve years on, the wine unveils layers intrinsic to its DNA—full-bodied yet nimble on the palate, leaving a lasting impression reminiscent of an artist's finest brushstroke across the canvas of time.

For those seeking to enrich their portfolio or captivate guests with vivacious storytelling through wine, the 2007 Vosne-Romanée Clos du Château holds its ground with a consummate grace found in few peers. Finite quantities underscore its desirability as contemporary vintages clamour for attention, yet none whisper the secrets of 2007 quite like it.

In conclusion, when canvassing opportunities within fine wine investment circles, do not overlook this ethereal expression hailing from one of Burgundy's emblematic terroirs. Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair's intricate knowledge of vineyard and cellar alike ensures that the wine remains an essential consideration for both collectors and connoisseurs alike.

Tasted at the Comte Liger-Belair vertical at the Château de Vosne. The 2007 Vosne-Romanée Clos du Château has a light, slightly nondescript nose at first, developing light strawberry and ferrous notes with time but never really getting out of second gear. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin on the entry and in fact, the palate is superior to the aromatics with a pleasant roundness and poise on the finish. It finishes much better than it starts, basically! Tasted June 2015.
