Rarity and Elegance: The Hallmarks of Investment-Worthy Wine

Amongst the impressive portfolio of Domaine Leroy, the 2002 Vosne les Brulees emerges as an illustrious candidate for fine wine investors. Its limited production, matched by the meticulous craftsmanship inherent in Domaine Leroy's handling of its vines, ensures its place as one of the estate's most sought-after releases.

A Vintage Singularity: Climatic Fortuity

The climatic conditions that shaped Burgundy in 2002 were nothing short of fortuitous. A mild winter preceding a cool spring set the stage for an immaculate bloom. The ensuing summer's even-keeled warmth, seguing into a dry and sunny September, granted the grapes time to achieve optimal ripeness—one reflected soles Brulees' concentrated palate.

On tasting, it reveals itself in layers; an intricate dance of ripe cherries and blackcurrants with a delicate smear of fine tannins and earthy undertones—a symphony dominated by the sophistication expected from top-tier Vosne-Romanée vineyards.

A particularly striking feature of this vintage is its balance—the 2002 Vosne les Brulees displays an admirable equilibrium between power and elegance. Its finish is long, reflective, unfolding slowly like an ancient tome containing secrets yet to be fully understood or valued.

In conclusion, the investment appeal of the 2002 Vosne les Brulees from Domaine Leroy lies not only in its scarcity but also in its embodiment of a superb vintage. A wine that may continue to ascend in complexity as well as value over time—a luminary amongst peers indeed.

The highly perfumed nose of the 2002 Vosne-Romanee Les Brulees leads to a medium to full-bodied, candied character. This silky, plush wine is crammed with spices, juicy blueberries, ripe blackberries, and displays superb balance and, though quite forward, an outstanding structure. Projected maturity: 2006-2015. Note: This estate’s 2002s are not yet released. The above estimate is based on the prices of the 2001s, taking into account that the dollar has significantly dropped.
