A Stellar Vintage Worth Investing In

1998 was a truly exceptional year for Antinori. This revered estate experienced a growing season marked by a gentle spring, warm summer, and enough rain to prompt the grapes into full maturation. These sublime conditions culminated in the profound and engaging Tignanello vintage now desired by discerning wine investors.

Savour the complexities of this Tignanello; a perfect rhythm of Sangiovese's intriguing dark fruit melding harmoniously with Cabernet's sultry spice-characteristics. Earthy undernotes layered with hints of tobacco and leather tease the olfactory senses, drawing one in for the initial sip.

A Symphony of Flavours, An Ode to Terroir

The wine's palate reveals an expertly conducted orchestra of layered flavours: ripe black cherries, wild berries intermingled in a delightful dance with exotic spices. What sets this 1998 vintage apart is its extraordinary balance. Unfolding beautifully across the palate, its bright acidity and robust tannins create a captivating tension that carries through to a remarkably persistent finish.

The terroir distinctly reflects in its finesse - 1998 was indeed generous to Antinori, and the appreciation shows vividly in this stunning Tignanello representation.

Whether savoured now, or kept cellared as an investment for future enjoyment, the 1998 Tignanello from Antinori undeniably confirms this producer's deserved place at the pinnacle of Italian viticulture. A stellar expression from a superb vintage; it's a symphony worth investing in and a testament to Antinori's enduring legacy in the heart of Italian fine wines.

There are 30,000 cases of this well-known Tuscan proprietary red made from a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc. The 1998 offers a classic bouquet of berry fruit, new saddle leather, underbrush, earth, and toast from its new barrique aging. Medium to full-bodied, good delineation, and a firm, classic style, it requires 2-3 years of cellaring, and should drink well for 15-16. Importer: Remy Amerique, New York, NY; tel. (212) 399-0200
