Now this is another attractive 1982, whose only fault is that it is rarely seen on the market, most likely because it has all been consumed. A shame, because this has a heavenly, eucalyptus scented bouquet that is still evident after two hours in glass. A touch of liquorice also evolving with time. The palate is full-bodied with mint and cedar infusing the black fruits with fine tannins. Perhaps a little short on the finish, with mulberry and a hint of sloes lingering on the aftertaste. Silky texture, very harmonious, this is a lovely 1982 drinking perfectly now. Drink now-2012. Tasted September 2007.
Neal Martin - Wine Journal Mar 2008
A disappointing wine, this soft, herbal, diluted 1982 reveals a lack of muscle, concentration, and depth. It has not fallen apart, but it does not exhibit much character, complexity, or pleasure. Drink it up.
