In a tapestry woven with the most intriguing and multiplayered threads of the Burgundian terroir, the 2007 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses from Domaine Comte de Vogue stands out with its unique finesse and complexity. The vintage of 2007, though initially underestimated, has blossomed in the bottle, now showing a charm and sophistication befitting the astute investor's cellar.
Resplendent Rarity: A Connoisseur’s Vintage
The vintage was marked by early bud-break followed by a prolonged ripening period that culminated in wines which surprised many enthusiasts with their potential. The mesoclimate of Chambolle-Musigny's esteemed vineyards bestowed upon its grapes an exceptional balance of acidity and maturity at harvest.
This particular Premier Cru, Les Amoureuses, is celebrated for its seductive perfume and detailed structure, qualities that the 2007 rendition has captured with precision. Its bouquet unfurls with lush aromas of red cherries and violets, underpinned by a subtle earthiness characteristic of this esteemed climat. On the palate, one finds an elixir that oscillates between power and elegance; ripe tannins are beautifully integrated into a silky framework, allowing the pure red fruit to dance without encumbrance.
An Astute Investment: The Pinnacle of Elegance
The wine's grace is further expressed through its ethereal finish—a lingering affair that resonates with connoisseurs who seek contemplative complexity. It is this harmonious balance of immediacy and potential for further maturation that makes an investment in the 2007 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses from Domaine Comte de Vogue so compelling.
As it stands, the 2007 vintage may not command the immediate attention of more heralded years, yet therein lies its strength as a discerning choice for the sagacious collector. This wine epitomises the poetry of Burgundy—subtle, profound and timeless—underscoring its status as one of the most venerable options for those attuned to the finer subtleties of vinous investment.

The 2007 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Amoureuses from Comte de Vogüé has an intense, upfront and quite bold bouquet of cranberry jus, pomegranate and undergrowth, quite showy in de Vogue's style during this decade. The palate is well balanced and perhaps not the most complex Les Amoureuses that I have encountered, yet there is good structure and plenty of sappy black fruit words the finish. Give this another 3-4 years in bottle. Tasted February 2016.
