I must say that whilst I adored the 2009 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Cras in its youth, it is not developing with quite the aplomb I was hoping. It has a complex bouquet with an undercurrent of savouriness, dried blood and brown spices, perhaps just a touch more advanced than I was expecting. The palate is smooth and sensual on the entry that is a doppelganger for a Vosne-Romanée. Plush and sumptuous, it is a sexy Nuits Saint Georges but I wanted something more cerebral on the finish. It is an excellent Aux Cras...but it does not quite deliver on the promise it showed 2-3 years ago. Tasted June 2015.
