The aftertaste lingers with an epilogue that resonates; it insists upon contemplation – a meditative homage to its birthplace and years shaped by careful husbandry and climatic beneficence. This wine has woven itself into the fabric of discerning collectors' portfolios, respected as much for its present allure as for its promise of evolution.

Tasted at the Comte Liger-Belair vertical at the Château de Vosne. The 2009 Vosne-Romanée Clos du Château clearly has more fruit concentration on the nose compared to the 2007 and 2008: sensual red cherries mixed with raspberry and orange blossom. I like how seamlessly the oak is integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and a crisp line of acidity. This is the oldest vintage that feels as if it could benefit from more bottle age. This is very fine. Tasted June 2015.
