Sotheby’s next London sale will feature “glorious Bordeaux in every state of maturity and expression,” according to the auction house.
Taking place on 18 April, the sale will open with “exceptionally rare” bottles of early 20th century First Growths, including 1909 Haut Brion (£900-£1,200), 1914 Lafite (£700-£900), 1918 and 1922 Lafite (£850-£1,100 each), 1928 Mouton Rothschild (£1,500-£2,000) and 1929 Latour (£850-£1,100).
Also on offer is an array of more recent greats, including 1945 Lafite, 1947 Cheval Blanc and 1961 Latour, plus a strong selection of Right Bank wines from revered vintages such as 1982, 1996, 200 and 2005.
While Bordeaux dominates the sale, bidders can also expect offerings from Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, Rayas and Krug, plus “gems” from Italy and Australia.
