Vintage Virtuosity: A Connoisseur's Delight

The alchemy of climate and craft culminated in the 2002 vintage, revealing a Meursault Perrieres that articulates its terroir with profound clarity. From the hands of Jean-François Coche, fine wine investors find a sumptuous balance of richness and precision in this expression. Indeed, it personifies investment-worthy Burgundy – scarce on release and ardently sought-after in maturity.

The Aroma of Success: Distilling Prestige

On approach, the 2002 vintage is redolent with nuanced aromatics that span from toasted hazelnut to the ethereal whisper of chamomile. The palate engages with a buttery complexity, overlain with expansive stone fruit notes and a flinty minerality that underscores its Perrieres pedigree. It is this matchless combination of power and finesse which renders this Domaine Coche-Dury offering particularly enthralling.

Twenty years past its harvest, one sips not merely a wine but the embodiment of an enlightened vintage under the stewardship of one of Meursault's most venerable domains. The 2002 vintage lingered on undimmed; its vitality an accolade to both the season's bounty and the winemaker's sagacity.

For those seeking to diversify portfolios or delight in an enological tour de force, the 2002 Meursault Perrieres signifies a consummate choice – embodying both a collector's jewel and an epicurean’s zenith.

In summary, whether held in cellars as a blue-chip investment or poured into glasses as celebratory libation, the 2002 Meursault Perrieres from Domaine Coche-Dury stands as testament to a vintage when nature conspired splendidly with human artistry. A compelling piece within any savvy investor’s collection or connoisseur’s cellar.

Described by Coche as “hyper-ripe,” the 2002 Meursault Perrieres sports a nose of sweet candied apples. It is broad, rich, hugely concentrated, deep, and amazingly long in the finish. Fat layers of pure, detailed minerals and gravel can be found in its complex personality. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2016. Note: Jean-Francois Coche labels five different wines as “Meursault,” the Vireuils-Dessous, Vireuils-Dessus, La Barre, Narvaux, and from an as-yet-unnamed parcel (it may be called “Chaumes”) on the top of the Meursault hill that belongs to his son Raphael. His US importer, Kermit Lynch, generally purchases only the Meursault from the Narvaux vineyard, but there is no way of knowing which “Meursault” is being purchased from the gray market.
