Reignots’ Radiance in a Comtempered Year
While the opening act of the growing season played out cooler than desired, resulting in delayed flowering, Burgundian tenacity witnessed a reversal as summer arrived. Scores and tasting notes
Tasted at the Comte Liger-Belair vertical at the Château de Vosne. The 2002 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots was a little smudged and reductive on the nose, developing savoury and dried meat notes with time. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin on the entry, good weight but missing the tension and precision that subsequent vintage will bring. Tasted June 2015.
