Artistry in a Bottle: A Taste Profile Marrying Climate and Craft
The growing season of 2015 was marked by its warmth and an early harvest, endowing the grapes with rich maturity while maintaining vital acidity. The resultant 2015 Echezeaux presents an olfactory tapestry interwoven with dark cherries and violets underpinned by an earthy truffle essence—a nexus where fruit bravado meets grounded sophistication.
On the palate, one experiences the symphonic layering of structured tannins and ripe red fruits, laced with subtle hints of oak. A marriage of strength and elegance, this wine's finesse is exhibited in a finish as long and lingering as a Burgundian midsummer dusk. The 2015 Echézeaux Grand Cru is very fine, offering up a dramatic nose of ripe red fruit, bonfire, espresso roast and sweet loamy soil. On the palate, the wine is rich and powerful, evidently structurally firmer and more masculine than the Beaumonts, although its tannins are similarly cloaked in a deep core of succulent fruit. There's also good freshness here despite the considerable power and amplitude.
