A Study in Elegance and Complexity
The challenges of the 2014 growing season in Burgundy— marked by a cool start but redeeming summer warmth— culminated in a September that allowed the noble grapes to attain full expression. This precise climactic dance resulted in a wine characterised by its intricate lacework of red fruits, nuanced by an earthy undertone and ethereal florals that gently whisper of Domaine Leroy's understated genius.
The Beau Ideal of Investment-Calibre Wines

In glass, one is embraced by an elegant structure; tannins with just the right tensile strength frame a vivid core of raspberry and cherries garlanded by violet and rose. A peppering of spice lends sophistication to a lingering finish that perpetuates the desire for just one more sip—a hallmark of truly great wine.
In Conclusion: Heritage Meets Opportunity
In summation, the 2014 vintage emerges as a heralded year for collectors, where finesse meets fortitude in the bottle. The balance achieved here at Domaine Leroy, despite or perhaps because of the year's meteorological vagaries, underscores the 2014 Romanee-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru as a pinnacle addition to any serious wine cache. Its presence is assuredly one that kindles enthusiasm amongst connoisseurs while promising potential growth for investors attuned to Burgundy's finest expressions.

The 2014 Romanée St Vivant Grand Cru has a pure bouquet as you would expect, an equal mixture of red and black fruit, but infused with cold stone, wet limestone scents. This is beautifully focused. The palate is very well balanced with superb density, almost Richebourg-like in style, here veering towards dark red fruit -- cranberry, wild strawberry and a touch of brown spice towards the supremely focused and long finish. Sophisticated and precise, this is a Romanée-Saint-Vivant that will rivet you to your seat.
